First Grade is Fun!

Mystery Readers for Charlotte's room!  We read Dragons Love Tacos and some other dragon books, and kids got their own fire-breathing dragons!

Charlotte did an egg drop project in her class.  You have to make a shoebox safe for an egg to be dropped and not crack!  Can I just say that I did this same project in 11th Grade physics, and my egg totally broke!  Yet Charlotte, a first grader, came up with an idea that worked?!  She taped the egg to small blown up balloons and placed them inside her box, with extra balloons for cushioning.  The result was the egg was suspended in the middle and didn't touch the top or bottom of the box, just bounced on the balloons.  My 7 year old is a genius.

Some really creative ideas in her class!  Helium filled balloons, one kid stuck their egg inside a stuffed teddy bear, another in a bowl of oatmeal, etc.!!
